One of my favorite hobbies is working on antique pianos. In fact, I had a business rebuilding and refinishing pianos before I returned to teaching science. And, it's easy to see, I approach piano work from a scientific angle, taking pieces completely apart to find out how they work so I can improve them and bring them back to life.
